This new traffic interchange on Interstate 10 between the existing Avra Valley Road and Cortaro Road interchanges will connect Twin Peaks Road, west of the Santa Cruz River, to Camino de Maņana and Linda Vista Boulevard on the east side of I-10. This project will relieve traffic congestion in the Town of Marana and the northwestern area of metropolitan Tucson and provide an infrastructure to aide the growth of northwest Pima County, which continues to exceed the current transportation infrastructure capacity.

This project will include the extension of Twin Peaks Road across the Santa Cruz River with a connection to I-10, which will allow residents west of the Santa Cruz River to access and cross over I-10 with a grade-separated crossing over the Union Pacific Railroad tracks.

As part of the Twin Peaks project, the Town of Marana is working to improve drainage structures, roadway elevations and manhole issues prior to the new paving and overlay of rubberized asphalt that will be placed along Twin Peaks Road and Silverbell Road.

Location: Marana, Ariz.
Started: May 2009
Target Completion: November 2010
Owner: Arizona Dept. of Transportation
Design Firm: URS Corp.
General Contractor: Pulice Construction
Consultants: Kimley-Horn and Associates Inc.; HDR; Wheat-Scharf; Tierra Right of Way
