Despite a slowdown in construction of residential single-family homes, commercial, infrastructure and institutional development have continued at a frantic pace in the Valley of the Sun.

According to McGraw-Hill Construction, a total of $4.3 billion in contracts for residential and commercial construction were awarded from January to April in the Phoenix metropolitan area.

This special section will focus on prominent projects such as 44 Monroe and the Scottsdale Canal redevelopment. It will also feature a less-known but equally important project, the Polly Rosenbaum Archives, which is designed to securely house Arizona's most important documents for up to 100 years.

In addition, SunCor Development is featured as Southwest Contractor's
2007 Phoenix Developer of the Year.
