Spotlight on K-12 Education
Two schools currently under construction demonstrate the ever-changing strategies and technologies in K through 12 school construction.
Building new structures often gives school districts the opportunity to try something different, whether it be building green or trying out the latest educational methods and technologies.
One such project, the Phoenix Union Bioscience School will prepare students for a future in biotechnology through a foundation in math and science. The school’s unique open floorplan provides students with a unique learning environment.
Albuquerque Public Schools is building its first high school in 20 years with the newly-christened Volcano Vista High School. While 2,200 will attend, students will proceed through the four-year school as members of smaller teams in the “small learning communities” concept, which APS is using for the first time here.
