A project’s success depends upon the pillars of careful planning, thorough site preparation and a good foundation.
This special report on planning and infrastructure takes a look at two projects that are just getting underway in Las Vegas, plus one Phoenix suburb’s rebirth of a vibrant downtown. All of these projects depend upon the careful planning of engineers, city officials and architects, and the skills of the specialty contractors to bring the plans into fruition.
As McCarran Airport prepares for its newest expansion, the $1.8 billion Terminal 3, a massive amount of civil site improvements is being orchestrated to prepare for the nearly half-mile-long terminal. Work also includes an underground transit system.
In nearby Henderson, crews are working on excavation, utilities and foundations for the $1.5 billion mixed-use project City Crossing.
In a delicate mix of historic districting and master-planning, the city of Chandler has been leading its downtown core to a dramatic redevelopment, thanks to the vision of city planners, small business owners, developers and non-profit organizations.
