The 60 projects featured in this year’s ranking were selected among the largest projects that broke ground in late 2006 and 2007. Together, these projects amount to a staggering $20.5 billion in construction activity for the region.

In order to highlight as many different projects as possible, each year’s ranking features a different group of projects ones that were on last year’s list do not appear again here. You can find last year’s list, as well as an electronic version of this year’s on our website at www.southwest.construction.com.

The projects are ranked by construction costs, which in some cases are estimated.

Arizona’s largest project is CityNorth’s $300 million first phase. New Mexico’s largest project is the $1.5 billion LES National Enrichment Facility.

This year’s largest projects are again in Nevada, with the $4.8 million Echelon and the $2.9 million Fontainebleau.

Information was provided by surveys sent to the building teams, McGraw-Hill Construction and public records. Data is current as of press time, but as always project details are subject to change.
