TWC Builds New Henderson Commerce Center Phase

TWC Construction has been awarded the $15.6 million contract to build the next phase of the Henderson Commerce Center for Harsch Investment Properties. The new project consists of five, single-story concrete tilt-wall buildings, totaling approximately 238,000 sq ft. The contract includes site improvements and shell building construction. The office, flex and manufacturing/distribution facilities are located on 17 acres at the intersection of Warm Springs and Eastgate Roads in Henderson. This project is adjacent to the initial phase of the Henderson Commerce Center Phase IV (also built by TWC Construction) and increases the total square footage at this area to nearly 600,000. Construction of the current expansion is slated to start imminently with an expected completion date at the end of the third quarter, 2008.

TWC was also awarded a $12 million contract for site improvements, buildings and tenant improvements for VenturePoint Speedway, an industrial project being developed by VenturePoint Development and located in North Las Vegas.

The development consists of a total of 16 units ranging from 6,000 to 30,000 sq ft in four concrete tilt-up buildings. Nearly 150,000 sq ft of industrial property will be constructed on 10 acres located at the corner of Tropical Parkway and Mount Hood Street. The Ware Malcomb-designed project is scheduled for completion in mid-2008. The buildings will be sold or leased depending on market demand.


CORE to Build North Las Vegas High School

Work has begun for a new high school at Carey Avenue and Los Feliz Street in North Las Vegas. The Clark County School District contracted CORE Construction for the $79 million project.

Situated on a 49-acre site, the new school contains 330,000 sq ft and includes an indoor gymnasium and outdoor soccer, baseball and football fields. The new school is being built to provide relief to Eldorado, Rancho, and Desert Pines High Schools.

Construction began in August and is scheduled to be completed in May 2009. Las Vegas-based Tate Snyder Kimsey is the architect of record.


SR Construction Begins Design/Build Medical Office Project

SR Construction began construction on the $6.3 million MacFarlane Medical Office Building located on the northeast corner of Warm Springs and Gagnier Roads, which is directly adjacent to the new St. Rose Dominican Hospitals' San Martin campus.

The 42,000 sq-ft, three-story steel structure is being developed by Capovilla Management LLC and is expected to be completed by the first quarter of 2008. Moser Architecture Studio will serve as the architect on the project.


Meadow Valley Awarded $15.6 Million Contract

Meadow Valley Corp. has been awarded a $15.6 million contract by Clark County to widen the I-215 Beltway from Hualapai to Charleston in Las Vegas. The project includes earthwork, soundwalls and new concrete pavement. Construction is scheduled to be completed in 2008.


Korte Awarded Stein Mart T.I. Project

Shadow Mountain Marketplace LLC recently named The Korte Company as the general contractor for a $1.2 million, 28,000-sq-ft Stein Mart tenant improvement project. Located at 6435 N. Decatur Boulevard in Las Vegas, the tenant finishes as well as mezzanine work will be included in this retail space project.


BJG Begins Work on Two Reno Car Dealerships

BJG | Architecture + Engineering began construction on the new $9.5 million Bill Pearce BMW, Volvo and Porsche dealership located at 11555 South Virginia Street in Reno. Once completed, the 54,000-sq-ft facility will include one building, three showrooms and two service departments.

Through the use of logistical coordination, BJG was able to unify the facility while allowing BMW, Volvo and Porsche to provide individual state of the art sales and services. The project is scheduled for completion in April.

BJG also designed a new $7 million Mazda Kia Dealership located at 9475/9485 S. Virginia St. in Reno. Once completed, the 42,000-sq-ft lot will include three state of the art structures built to meet national prototype design. The project is scheduled for completion in March.


Crisci Builders Completes Cartier Business Center

Crisci Builders has completed construction of Cartier Business Center at 4910 E. Cartier Ave. in North Las Vegas.

Fratelli Development contracted Crisci Builders to provide ground-up construction of the flex-space warehouses. Cartier Business Center is comprised of 10 buildings that total 56,000 sq ft. Seventy percent of the project has been sold; occupants include Cutting Edge Cabinets, Sheedy Drayage Co. and Denko Drywall Co.

Construction commenced in March 2006 and was completed in October. Creative Design Architecture served as the architect of record. Crisci Builders' vice president Benjamin Cornwall served as project manager and Larry Flashner as superintendent for the $8 million development.
