Santa Fe Firm Wins Work
Cameron Construction recently contracted with a private firm
in Taos, N.M. to build a 144,000-sq.-ft. multi-use retail
and restaurant complex. Construction started in early 2004.
The project, a traditional contemporary southwest style design,
will be built on 9.5 acres along the Angel Fire highway.
The firm also recently began construction on the Taytsugeh
Oweengeh Intergenerational Center for the Pueblo of Tesuque
located north of Santa Fe. The 21,830-sq.-ft. , one story
community center includes a multi-use gymnasium, weight room,
fitness exam room, cardio room, cafeteria and office spaces.
Bridging the generations, the center also includes a senior
common activity center. The exterior of the center will be
a traditional contemporary southwest design with stucco finish
and will be accented by the tribal shield. Anticipated completion
date is October, 2004.
State to See More Road Funds
Gov. Bill Richardson recently signed new legislation that
provides $1.4 billion in funding for 47 road projects in New
Mexico.
Dubbed "GRIP," or Gov. Richardson's Improvement
Plan, the program utilizes bonding, pay-as-you-go and other
financing programs to pay for the projects over an eight-year
period.
Projects include light rail, commuter rail, park and ride,
airport improvements, bike paths and hiking trails.
