Win Arena Project Albuquerque's Bradbury Stamm Construction will
team with the Dallas office of Hunt Construction Group to build the new Rio Rancho
Arena in Rio Rancho, N.M.
A formal groundbreaking took place in June with
plans calling for a fall 2006 opening.
The Denver office of architects
Sink Combs Bethlefs is designing the 6,500 seat multi purpose arena. Plans are
calling for the new arena to be the home of a hockey team.
The $43 million
facility will be the centerpoint for the new Rio Rancho City Center, which is
also scheduled for occupancy in fall 2006. The city floated a bonder offering
of $35 million, which is expected to be repaid by 2026.
Three other teams
chased the project: Gerald Martin and Turner Construction: Reid & Associates
and Austin Commercial and Hensel Phelps.
The Rio Rancho City Council also
received preliminary renderings for a new, four-story 60,000-sq.-ft. city hall
designed by Hartman & Majewski Design Group of Albuquerque.
Hospital
to Expand, Remodel Presbyterian Healthcare Services recently purchased
six acres of land in Los Lunas, N.M. for the construction of a new 11,500-sq.-ft.
family health care center for residents of Valencia County, which is south of
Albuquerque.
Construction is expected to start in the fourth quarter of
2005 with plans calling for a 2006 completion.
The company is also planning
on renovating its urgent care and family care facility in Belen.
