Second Hoover Dam Approach Awarded
Edward Kraemer & Sons' Arizona office was announced as
the apparent low-bidder on the Nevada Approaches contract
for the Hoover Dam Bypass along Highway 93.
Kraemer's competitive $30.1 million bid was 7 percent lower
than the second-place proposal for the 2.1 mile stretch of
the project. EKS expects to begin work on the project in October,
and will fast-track work after bidding 20 months to complete
the project.
This is the second of three contracts for the Hoover Dam Bypass
Project. Once the project is completed, it will alleviate
congestion around the Hoover Dam site and improve access to
the dam's visitor center. The first contract bid early this
year, and the final contract will bid later this year.
