Arizona Firm Wins Hospital Job
The Phoenix office of Hunt Construction Group recently picked
up the $50 million Carson-Tahoe Hospital project in Carson
City, Nev.
Work on the three-story, above grade, 345,000-sq.-ft. hospital
is expected to begin this month. San Diego-based Moon Mayoras
Architects will design the project.
Korte Company Wins Fire Station Work
The Korte Company was recently awarded a contract by American
Nevada Corporation for the construction of the Aliante Fire
Station No. 56 located in North Las Vegas.
The fire station will service Aliante, the area's newest master
planned community. The 10,300-sq.-ft. building will include
dormitory sleeping quarters, kitchen and dining facilities,
exercise and training rooms.
Target General Inc. Awarded Construction
Contract
Las Vegas-based Target General Inc. recently announced it
has been awarded a contract by the State of Nevada Public
Works Board for the construction of an integrated Nevada Department
of Transportation, Nevada Highway Patrol and Freeway Arterial
Signal Technology facility.
The project, located at the southeast corner of Decatur Boulevard
and the 215 Beltway, covers approximately 13 acres and includes
two buildings totaling 66,670 sq. ft. including a 10,485 square-foot
warehouse/maintenance facility.
Construction of the project began in October and is scheduled
for completion in September 2004. Chuck Jackson is serving
as project manager and Bill Purington as superintendent. The
construction contract is estimated at $10,154,000.
ACI Completes Project
Las Vegas based general contractor, Affordable Concepts, Inc.
(ACI), completed a 10,000 sq. ft. tenant improvement for Direct
Access Lending on Warm Springs in the McCarran Center Business
Park.
Project manager Scott Wersheim and superintendent John Brill
completed the project in 62 days, eight days before the contracted
date.
Developer Firm to Build Project
Panattoni Development and Panattoni Construction are in the
process of building a new R Supply's home, with plans calling
for a 70,000-sq.-ft. facility at 1095 South Rock Boulevard
in Reno.
The building, designed by Blakely Johnson & Ghusn Engineering
and Architecture, will feature loading docks, office space,
retail space and cost-saving technology such as motion-sensor
lighting in areas of the warehouse that automatically reduces
to 20 percent power when there is no activity in the area.
Firm Completes Projects
EJM Development Co. recently completed construction on four
buildings in the new Pearl Court Industrial Center, located
on Post Road at Pearl Street.
Buildings B, at 3643 E. Post Road, C at 3649 E. Post Road,
D at 3655 E. Post Road, and E at 3705 E. Post Road, range
in size from 12,067 to 20,079 sq. ft. Each building offers
individual identifies with offices built-to-suit, and fenced
yards. The warehouse spaces contain features such as evaporative
cooling and skylights, and offer both dock high and grade
level loading.
Pearl Court Industrial Center, a 10-acre master planned industrial/office
park situated in the heart of Green Valley, offers high-image
buildings in a private cul-de-sac. The Center's highly-coveted
location offers convenient access to McCarran International
Airport, the I-95, 215 Beltway, and the employment base of
Green Valley. Upon completion, the industrial center will
contain nine freestanding buildings, each situated on its
own property.
Building A, which contains approximately 8,000 sq. ft.t of
space, was the first completed building in the development
and serves as a new location for Sprint.
Company Reaches Milestone
Kevin Parsons, president of Parsons Bros. Rockeries, recently
announced the Las Vegas-based subcontractor recently completed
its 10 millionth square feet of rock retaining wall. Since
its inception the company has completed retaining wall projects
in Washington, California, and Nevada.According to Parsons,
the 10 million sq. ft. accomplishment is the equivalent of
a four-ft. high rock retaining wall stretching from Las Vegas
to Reno. The company, which celebrated its 30-year anniversary
in March, used 1.5 million tons of rocks and over 153,000
truckloads of materials to reach the 10 million sq. ft. milestone.
