Vanessa A. Westfall
Former Opus West executives Jamie Godwin and Craig Zupancic have formed The Richard Solomon Group, a commercial real estate consulting firm with a wholly owned subsidiary providing design-build, general contracting and tenant improvement services. Godwin and Zupancic bring more than three decades of commercial development and construction experience to owners, developers, tenants and property managers. Current projects include a tenant improvement at Pima Center that houses First American Title Company.
RSG is currently working with banks and court appointed receivers to complete several distressed asset properties, including some former Opus West projects after the firm’s July bankruptcy. US Bank and court appointed receiver CBRE engaged RSG to complete the $49.3 million Tempe Gateway. Other projects include Miller Crossing, a $12.5 million retail center in Chandler and the La Siena and McDowell Village independent living communities in north central Phoenix and south Scottsdale.
Bruce Meyers
Vanessa A. Westfall has joined Summit Builders Construction Co. of Phoenix as director of business development. She will help develop new business for Summit in the Southwest. Most recently, Westfall was an owner in a boutique marketing and business development firm. She brings many well-established relationships in the real estate and municipal communities to her new position.
D.P. Electric Inc. has hired Bruce Meyers as its newest project manager. He will be responsible for providing management control and expertise on a day to day basis. Prior to his new position, Meyers was a branch manager for Gaylor Inc. His 25 years of experience includes industrial controls, HVAC controls and commercial projects like the Renaissance Hotel in Glendale.
Kimberly Mickelson recently joined the Small Giants team as marketing associate, responsible for social media, proposal development and website management for clients. With over six years of marketing experience in the design and construction industry, she received her Bachelor’s degree from the University of Nebraska in Lincoln.

Lloyd Ramsey was recently named practice leader for the Stantec’s buildings engineering practice in the western U.S. Ramsey will be based out of the firm’s Phoenix office and will contribute to business development efforts and expanding services throughout the region. Ramsey has been with Stantec for five years and has 22 years of engineering and management experience. He is a licensed engineer and LEED accredited professional. He received his diploma in power engineering from the Northern Alberta Institute of Technology in Canada.
