Southwest Firms Announce Promotions

Road Machinery Company announced that Robert Carrillo has been promoted to the position of account manager in Albuquerque. In his new position, Carrillo will be responsible for sales and rentals of new and used Komatsu equipment, as well as many other related construction products carried by Road Machinery.


Soil-Tech/Native Resources of Nevada, announced that the Las Vegas-based environmental restoration company has promoted Bryan Vellinga to the position of general manager/vice president. He previously served as vice president of sales and marketing. In addition to directing day-to-day operations, Vellinga will maintain his involvement with sales and marketing for Soil-Tech/Native Resources.Prior to joining the Soil-Tech, Vellinga served as the vice president of sales and marketing for Park West/Tracy & Ryder Landscape in Las Vegas. He previously served as branch manager for Trugreen LandCare in Las Vegas.


Mike Bontrager, president of the Southwest Business Unit for The Weitz Company, recently announced that Clay Wells, vice president business development,
has been appointed to the National Association of Industrial and Office Properties (NAIOP) Associates V - Development Solutions Forum.

This Forum focuses on emerging issues in real estate development and how to address them in the development process.

In addition to his business development duties, Wells is a Certified Economic Developer and is involved in several community and professional organizations including chairing Valley Partnership's Legislative Affairs Committee, National Association of Industrial and Office Properties (NAIOP), Arizona Association for Economic Development (AAED), the Greater Phoenix Economic Council (GPEC), Urban Land Institute (ULI) and is a board member of the Arts and Business Council of Greater Phoenix.


Ezequiel Arvizu has joined Sundt Construction, Inc., as a Compliance / Affirmative Action Representative. His job responsibilities include serving as a company-wide resource for a variety of human resource issues, including minority/women/small business development, equal employment opportunity, affirmative action, compliance, and grievances.
He is a graduate of Arizona State University with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Human Resource Management. Arvizu has accumulated years of experience in human resources and construction in both the Federal and private sectors.


The PENTA Building Group recently announced the promotion of Lou Primak to Area Manager for Northern Nevada and California. The PENTA office in Reno opened its doors June 1, 2005. In his new role, Primak will be responsible for complete oversight of PENTA's Northern Nevada and California construction operations. Primak will continue to oversee PENTA's Conway Transportation Services construction activities in the Western United States.
Prior to his move to the Reno office, Primak was Preconstruction Director for the Las Vegas market and Project Manager for Spa Resort Casino in Palm Springs, California. Primak has been with PENTA for three years and has lived in Reno since 1989.


Real estate leader Opus West Corporation has hired Claire Janssen to the position of chief financial officer.

In her new role, Janssen oversees the accounting, forecasting and analysis, human resources and IT departments for Opus West's six-state operating region of Arizona, California, Nevada, New Mexico, Texas and Utah. Prior to joining Opus West, Janssen served as a real estate due diligence consultant for Snyder Kearney, LLC, a nationwide provider of corporate and securities services to securities broker-dealer firms and other clients.
