in New Mexico's AGC Branches Norman A. Gabel
, vice-president of marketing and business development for
The Jaynes Companies , Albuquerque, has been elected the 2006 president
of the New Mexico Building Branch, Associated General Contractors. Other AGC officers
elected were Robert Lockwood, Lockwood Construction
Co., Santa Fe, senior vice-president; Brook
Henderson, Lockwood Construction Co., vice-president; and
Brendan Adams, Gerald Martin General Contractor, Albuquerque, secretary-treasurer.
Elected chair and vice-chair of AGC's associate/affiliate division respectively
were Adam Triolo, AUI, Inc., and Glen Braybrooks,
American National Insulation and Sealants , both of Albuquerque. Elected
to three-year terms on the chapter's board of directors were
Maria Guy, J.B. Henderson Construction Co., Inc.; Clayton L. Gooden, Star
Construction, Inc., |both of Albuquerque; and Pruett.
Associated Contractors of New Mexico elected
Mike Beck as its 2006 organization president.
Mike Beck is employed by San Bar Construction
and will lead over 200 New Mexico highway contractor firms and over 10,000 employees.
He has served on several ACNM committees and on the Board of Directors for the
past two years. Mike attended New Mexico State University with a degree in Civil
Engineering.
ISEC, Inc. announced the promotion of Dusty
Morgan to executive vice president. Morgan has been with ISEC for 28 years,
most recently managing division office operations as senior vice president located
in the Phoenix office. As executive vice president, Morgan will be in charge of
the operations of the Southwest, San Diego, and Northwest Regions, and ISEC's
subsidiary, Interstate Interiors, Inc.
Ray Baca is the new General Manager for Road
Machinery LLC at the off-road equipment company's offices in Albuquerque,
N.M. and El Paso, TX. In his new position, Baca oversees all product support,
sales and rental of heavy machinery and related construction products carried
by the Komatsu distributor in New Mexico. Baca has worked for twenty-five years
with heavy equipment dealerships in New Mexico, Texas, Arizona, and Colorado.
Most recently, he was responsible for parts operations at a Colorado equipment
distributor.
R&O Construction announces the promotion of
Erik Skogstad to vice president and general manager of the Las Vegas regional
office. Skogstad began working as an estimator in R&O's corporate office in 1996
after graduating from Bringham Young University's construction management program.
He will manage the existing staff and plans to hire several additional employees
during the coming year.
The American Institute of Architects (AIA) , Arizona Chapter has awarded
Jorge Jose Colón, AIA , "Young Architect of
the Year". Colón is a design architect employed at the Phoenix, AZ office of SmithGroup.
Colón is an active member of the AIA and a Faculty Adjunct at Arizona State University
School of Architecture. During his time at SmithGroup, Colón has served as the
Lead Designer on several community projects including the 225,000 sq-ft office
building for Chestnut Properties at Mill Avenue and Washington. Currently he is
also working on the ASU campus in downtown Phoenix. Colón received a Bachelor
of Science in Architecture from Georgia Institute of Technology and a Masters
in Architecture from Arizona State University.
