Arizona Architect Inducted Into History Hall of Fame

Michael Sadowski has joined AMEC as manager of the firm’s Tucson office. Sadowski has expertise in construction administration, construction management, construction inspection and surveillance. He has managed the construction administration of public works projects, including highways, freeways, bridges and airports, in Arizona, Nevada, Mexico and Kuwait.

The PENTA Building Group appointed Robert Schenck as a preconstruction estimator for the company’s northern Nevada operations. In his new role Schenck will be responsible for all aspects of the pre-construction planning process including subcontractor coordination, budgeting, contract estimating, coordinating of project architect and engineer and client relations. Schenck brings more than eight years of experience in the construction industry to the company.

Schenck graduated with a bachelor of science in construction management from the University of Wisconsin.

Sundt Construction Inc. has opened a branch office in Reno, Nev. The new office will serve the company’s growing list of clients in the area, particularly those in the hospitality sector.  Currently, the Reno office is providing pre-construction services for two large resort hotels in the Mammoth, Calif. area and is pursuing several other large resort/hotel projects in northern California and northern Nevada. The Reno office is staffed with personnel who formerly worked for Krump Construction, a well-respected hospitality builder.

Dewberry, a privately held professional services firm, has named Christopher A. Miranda office manager in the firm’s Phoenix office.

Miranda has extensive past experience with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and the U.S. Department of Homeland Security. Miranda earned a bachelor of science degree in civil engineering as well as a masters in business administration from Arizona State University.

Courtney Armstrong joins RNL as interior designer. Courtney received her bachelor of science in interior design from Arizona State University this past spring. Armstrong is currently working on the Mesa Justice Center project, which is a new 97,000-sq-ft courthouse project for the city of Mesa. Armstrong is also working on the design for RNL’s new Phoenix office, which is targeting LEED gold certification.

Toni Lombardozzi, LEED AP, joins RNL as architectural intern. She received her master of architecture degree from Savannah College of Art and Design in Savannah, Ga. Lombardozzi is also working on the Mesa Justice Center project, where she is working on the architectural design.

Thomas J. Wolf, PE, has joined Stantec’s Phoenix office as a program manager in the firm’s transportation practice. Wolf has extensive experience in engineering and project management for major transit systems in Arizona and Utah. Additionally he has a 30-year background with highway, bridge and infrastructure design related to transportation and site development projects across the Southwest.

Ricardo Perez has been hired as CG artist for Patrick Hayes Architecture Inc. in Scottsdale. Prior to joining Patrick Hayes Architecture Inc. he consulted as freelance artist to several companies, like Pratt & Whitney Rocketdyne and Legacy Interactive.

KKE Architects hired Ravindran Vaithianathan as associate. Drawing from 27 years of experience in the planning, design and construction administration of multi-family housing and high density mixed use projects, Vaithianathan leads the production efforts of KKE’s Las Vegas Housing Group including clients like Pulte Homes.
KKE also hired Yihong Liu, AIA as senior associate - Commercial Development Group also in Las Vegas.

For the past five years, Liu has served as the lead designer on numerous office building projects throughout Las Vegas and its surrounding communities. His designs have received numerous industry design awards and several of his most recent projects have advanced the company’s sustainability initiative. Among these, the Molasky Office project, a 17-story building in downtown Las Vegas.
