commentCrystals, the retail and entertainment district at CityCenter, has achieved LEED gold core and shell, the world’s largest retail district to receive that level. Opening this month, Crystals’ achievement marks the fourth gold certification for CityCenter.
Under the rating, USGBC evaluated the entire district with the exception of the tenants’ interior spaces. Highlights include radiant floor cooling, Forest Stewardship Council-certified wood, efficient water fixtures saving up to 1.8 million gallons of water and skylights providing ample natural light.
Crystals’ multi-faceted exterior was designed by Studio Daniel Libeskind and built by Perini Building Co. The interior by David Rockwell and Rockwell Group features abstract hanging gardens.
Sustainability consultants for CityCenter include CTG Energetics, Green Building Services, Viridian Energy & Environmental, Fore Solutions and Simon & Associates.
